MoU Signing with DEFTA Partners: Strengthening Global Health Innovation Pathways

We were thrilled to host a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony yesterday between HKUMed and DEFTA Partners, a global venture capital firm based in Japan! 

The MoU was officially signed by Professor CS Lau, Dean of Medicine, Vice-President & Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health) at HKU, and Ambassador George Hara, Group Chairman & CEO of DEFTA Partners. 

This strategic collaboration marks an exciting step forward in expanding global reach and driving investment into high-impact healthcare solutions originating from HKUMed. 

Following the signing ceremony, several groundbreaking HKUMed research projects were showcased, demonstrating cutting-edge advances in vaccine technology, AI diagnostics, and digital healthcare.

The visit concluded with an insightful tour of our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, giving our guests a closer look at our researchers turning science into transformative commercial applications.
