Bridging Innovation & Enterprise: HKUMedTTU at the 18th Suzhou International Elite Entrepreneurship Week 🚀

We are thrilled to share that the HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit | TTU recently led a dynamic delegation representing 14 project teams to the 18th Suzhou International Elite Entrepreneurship Week (第十八屆蘇州國際精英創業周) & 3rd Suzhou International Science and Technology Innovation Conference (第三屆蘇州國際科創大會).

Our journey was packed with high-value exchanges, industrial matchmaking, and deep dives into Suzhou's thriving biomedical and healthcare ecosystem:

🌟 Day 1: Bridging Healthcare Ecosystems 

The week kicked off with the grand opening ceremony and the Suzhou Industrial Science and Technology Achievements Exhibition (蘇州產業科技成果展). To maximise our impact, our delegation expanded its footprint by visiting Heiwa Hospital (禧華醫院) and Suzhou Kowloon Hospital (蘇州九龍醫院), where we held fruitful exchange forums to discuss clinical collaboration and translational research pathways.

🌟 Day 2: Industrial Deep Dives & Matchmaking 

We shifted our focus to the Suzhou New District (高新區). Following a standard programme visit to the High-Tech Zone Exhibition Hall (高新區展示館) and the China Suzhou Pioneer Park for Overseas Chinese Scholars (中國蘇州留創園) in the morning, the afternoon saw our delegation split into specialised tracks to explore synergising opportunities with local industry leaders:

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernisation: Engaging with 李良濟 (Li Liang Ji).
  • Incubation & Acceleration: Exploring partnership frameworks with BioHub (百創匯).
  • Venture Capital & Investment: Pitching and networking with healthcare-focused investors at Proxima VC (比鄰星創投).

The trip culminated in an inspiring evening at the "Suzhou New District Sci-Tech Innovation Night (蘇高新科創之夜)," solidifying connections that we believe will catalyse future cross-border clinical and commercial successes.
