Prof. Raymond SUN

Professor Raymond Sun joined Lee & Man Chemical Co. Ltd. (HKEx: 746) in 2016 and later, its branched companies Guangzhou Lee & Man Technology Co. Ltd. as the Chairman of the Board. He is the External R&D Director of Lee & Man Chemical and responsible for the research and industrial development of some key components/ ingredients for lithium batteries, cosmetic and bio-medical related products.
In 2004, he graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor Chi-Ming Che and Professor Hongzhe Sun. His doctoral research was focused on the anti-cancer and anti-viral properties of gold(III) porphyrin complexes and their related complexes. In 2012/13, he worked at The University of Warwick (United Kingdom) as a Visiting Scholar under the supervision of Professor Peter J. Sadler.
From 2013 to 2015, he had worked as a Professor (Department of Chemistry) and Director of the International Affairs Office (College of Science), Shantou University, China. Prof. Sun was engaged in the development of anti-cancer and anti-viral transition metal complexes, and in the design of novel metal-based supramolecular polymers and metal-organic frameworks to facilitate the transport of bioactive substances.
