Dr. Stella SUN

Dr. Stella Sun is the Principal Manager in Life & Health Sciences at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), a government department dedicated to facilitating and promoting both inward and outward investment to support Hong Kong’s economic development. Her primary focus includes pharmaceuticals, medical device (IVD) and healthcare, where she leverages her expertise to attract overseas and mainland companies to enhance Hong Kong’s Life & Health ecosystems.

With over 15 years of extensive experience in the Innovation and Technology sector, Dr. Sun has a diverse background spanning academia, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology enterprises with a particular focus on oncology. Prior to joining InvestHK, she worked at a multinational pharmaceutical company, contributing to the launch of blockbuster pipelines. She has also successfully led the commercialization of the company’s leading in vitro diagnostics (IVD) tool for gastrointestinal cancer interception in a startup.

Dr. Sun graduated from the University of Manchester in the UK, earning a degree in Clinical Biochemistry and a Master’s Degree in Immunology and Immunogenetics from the same institution. She holds a PhD in Cancer Biology from The University of Hong Kong, where she also completed her postdoctoral training.

In addition to her academic qualifications, Dr. Sun holds several patents and has served as an investigator on HMRF and ITSP (Tier 3) research grants. She has also authored 32 publications throughout her career.
