🚀 Proud #TechTransfer Milestone for #HKU & #HKUMed!

We are thrilled to see our university leading the way in technology transfer and knowledge commercialisation!
According to the latest report from Hong Kong Economic Journal, HKU ranked #1 among the eight UGC-funded universities in knowledge transfer income for 2024/25, generating nearly HK$3 billion — contributing to a combined total exceeding HK$14 billion across all institutions for the first time.
This achievement highlights the growing impact of bridging laboratory discoveries to real-world applications. As Prof. Stephanie Ma, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) (Interim) at HKU, emphasised: the university's venture investment activities are not primarily driven by financial returns, but by the goal of generating social impact.
At HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit | TTU, we are fully committed to this mission — supporting our researchers in translating biomedical innovations into solutions that benefit patients and society. Through initiatives like #HKUMedXelerate, industry partnerships, and commercialisation support, we continue to drive innovation forward.
