【TTU LinkedIn Series】What We Do 3: Innovation Exposure – Building the Next Generation of Biomedical Innovators
Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation — it grows when students step outside the classroom and into the real world of healthcare, biotech and medtech.
At the HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit | TTU, we create meaningful pathways for students from all faculties to gain structured exposure, including opportunities to:
- Visit innovation hubs and biotech clusters in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area
- Join major events such as the Asia Summit on Global Health (#ASGH)
- Connect with founders, clinicians, investors and industry leaders
- Explore mentorship and internship opportunities within the biomedical innovation ecosystem
This exposure helps students:
- See how research translates into patient and societal impact
- Build confidence in communicating with non-academic stakeholders
- Discover career and startup opportunities at the intersection of science, medicine, technology and business
While applications for this cohort have come to an end, we are always looking ahead — to build a stronger ecosystem together.
If you are a clinician, researcher, founder or industry professional interested in joining us in the future, we would love to connect at infottu@hku.hk.
