Building strong connections with the outside world is a vital part of our role at HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit | TTU. We actively host visits from external partners to showcase #HKUMed’s cutting-edge biomedical research and explore collaboration opportunities.

These engagements bring together a diverse range of visitors, including:

  • Pharmaceutical and biotech companies
  • Government officials and delegations
  • Medical education and research institutions from the Greater Bay Area and beyond

In 2025 alone, we were proud to host over 30 visits. These interactions often go beyond tours — some have led to the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), paving the way for deeper research partnerships, talent development, and translational projects.

During these visits, we highlight our curated portfolio of HKUMed Innovations — covering areas such as AI in healthcare, drug development platforms, medical devices, therapeutics, and more.

Recent highlights include:

  • Hosting the Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation (SMART) and facilitating an MoU signing
  • Supporting a high-level delegation from China’s National Health Commission (NHC), showcasing award-winning innovations in AI healthcare and precision medicine

These engagements allow us to serve as a bridge — connecting HKUMed’s researchers and clinicians with industry leaders to tackle real-world healthcare challenges.
