🎙️ Honoured to see #HKUMed expertise showcased on RTHK Radio 1 🎙️

Prof. Russell W. Chan, Honorary Assistant Professor at the HKU School of Biomedical Engineering, joined Prof. Benny Chung-Ying Zee (CUHK) and Mr Jacky Chi-hong Kwan (programme host) on RTHK’s 《管理新思維》 (Nova Management) to discuss “本地科創的最新形勢與機遇” (the latest landscape and opportunities in local science and technology innovation).

Drawing on both their academic work and deep-tech start-up experience, they highlighted:

• How the mindset of a researcher differs from that of a founder, and why strong university support is crucial for deep-tech spin-offs facing high technical and commercial hurdles.

• Key trends in Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem, from preventive healthcare to leveraging AI to accelerate biomedical advances.

• Ways to foster alignment between scientists and investors, navigate start-up collaborations, and practical advice for aspiring deep-tech entrepreneurs.
