The HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit | TTU is pleased to share that our researchers have garnered 23 awards at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held from 11 to 15 March 2026. This remarkable achievement contributes to a record total of 46 awards for HKU.

HKUMed’s award tally comprises:
1 Special Grand Prize – Prize of the Chinese Delegation
5 Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury
7 Gold Medals
9 Silver Medals
1 Bronze Medal

Among the highlights, one of our #HKUMedXelerate2025 Winning Projects received both the Special Grand Prize (Prize of the Chinese Delegation) and a Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury for its pioneering “Nose-to-brain nanopowder nasal spray for rapid ischemic stroke rescue”. This portable, nanotechnology-enabled first-aid solution showcases how our research can be translated into timely, life-saving interventions.

Other recognised projects span a broad spectrum of healthcare innovation, including novel immunisation strategies (such as home-based toothbrushing delivery against respiratory viruses), rapid point-of-care diagnostics for cancer and mosquito-borne diseases, AI-driven cancer detection devices, hormone monitoring technologies and more — all with strong potential for real-world impact through technology transfer and commercialisation.

At the HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit | TTU, we are committed to nurturing industry and community partnerships, and helping bring these inventions from the laboratory to clinical and societal use.

Congratulations to all HKUMed teams and thanks to collaborators on this distinguished international recognition. Your commitment to advancing health through innovation is making a meaningful difference locally and globally.
