HKUMed Unveils World’s Largest Multi-Omics Atlas for Brain Metastases

The LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed), together with Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong, has developed the world’s largest multi‑omics atlas of brain metastases, marking a major advance in precision oncology.
This comprehensive dataset offers a new framework for classifying brain metastases and sheds light on how different tumour subtypes interact with neurons and immune cells in the brain. These insights pave the way for next‑generation combination therapies, including targeted drugs, immunotherapy and radiotherapy.
Professor Gilberto Leung Ka-kit, Tsang Wing-Hing Professor in Clinical Neuroscience and Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine, HKUMed, noted that this work lays an important foundation for more effective, personalised treatment strategies for patients with brain metastases.
