TTU Student Ambassador Scheme 2026-27 Orientation Workshop

Delighted to launch the HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit | TTU #StudentAmbassador (SA) Scheme 2026–27 with an inspiring Orientation Workshop last Thursday (16 April).

We were honoured to have Prof Joshua W. K. Ho, HKUMed Assistant Dean (Innovation & Technology Transfer), deliver the Welcome Remarks and set the scene for a dynamic year of innovation, entrepreneurship, and real-world impact in medtech and biotech.

The sessions included:

• “Lies in Ventures – Hidden Truth in the Game” — a refreshingly candid and humorous workshop by Mr Fred LI (Managing Director, Gobi Partners) and Dr Shaolin Liang, PhD (Investor Engagement Lead, HKSTP): They unpacked the classic lines founders and investors often hear (and use) — from “We don’t have competitors” to “We only need 1% of the market” — and showed our students how to read between the lines in the venture world. It was like a live, venture-themed version of Lie to Me.
• “AI-Driven Innovation: What Jiangsu Means for the Next Generation” by Mr Cheney Cheng, CIO of DeltaBlock Capital — an insightful, forward-looking exploration of AI’s transformative role and the opportunities emerging from Jiangsu for the next generation of innovators.

Following the talks, our team introduced the full programme structure for the 2026–27 SA Scheme, highlighting key elements including internship, mentorship, industry exposure visits (Hong Kong + GBA), and exchange tours.
